NYCETC Awarded $125,000 by Latinos United for Change Coalition

A historic $30 million investment secured by the Latinos United for Change Coalition (LUCHA) in the New York State budget is delivering critical new resources to community-based organizations working to expand opportunity across the state.

Through this initiative, NYCETC has been awarded $125,000 to support its workforce development efforts—strengthening programs that connect New Yorkers, particularly those in underserved communities, to quality jobs, career pathways, and long-term economic mobility.

Workforce systems are under increasing pressure to meet the needs of both workers and employers. This investment affirms the essential role of community-based organizations in bridging gaps—linking talent to in-demand industries, supporting historically excluded populations, and building more inclusive local economies.

NYCETC will leverage this funding to further its mission of advancing equitable workforce solutions across New York City—supporting providers on the ground, strengthening sector partnerships, and advocating for sustained public investment in workforce development. This funding represents a recognition that expanding access to quality jobs requires coordinated, community-driven strategies that meet New Yorkers where they are and connect them to where opportunity is growing.
