October 6, 2023
On October 6, NYCETC and Google co-hosted ‘Building the Tech Bridge‘ at Google’s NYC Headquarters. Gregory J Morris, CEO, NYCETC and Angela Pinsky, Head of Government Affairs for Public Policy for Google New York welcomed attendees; and Andrew Rasiej, Founder, CEO at Civic Hall, Chairman Emeritus, NY Tech Alliance provided the keynote address.
NYCETC announced the 2023 NYCETC Tech Bridge Grant Recipients: Center for Employment Opportunities, Leap d/b/a Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI), Youth Action Programs and Homes, The Marcy Lab School, and Tech Kids Unlimited. Additionally, we heard from students, philanthropists, providers, and intermediaries in panel discussions and pitches to strengthen partnerships in the tech training ecosystem.
These grants are part of an effort – launched through the Google NYC Tech Opportunity Fund – to identify promising practices and policy approaches to grow and sustain an equitable and inclusive tech training ecosystem. NYCETC’s grant development included a working group, concept paper and a Tech Summit. NYCETC extends its gratitude to Brendan Collins and Hana Sun for guiding grant development and convenings.
