2024 NYCETC Conference: Setting NYC’s Workforce Agenda – On Policy

This year’s conference, Setting NYC’s Workforce Agenda, offers two days of programming with distinct focuses: policy on December 3 and practice on December 4. Each day is designed to stand alone, so whether you attend one or both, you’ll hear from, and network with key partners and colleagues from across the City focused on setting the workforce agenda for 2025. This program is part of NYC Workforce Week, led by NYCETC.

December 3 – Setting the Workforce Agenda — On Policy offers an inspiring deep dive into policy innovation, advocacy, and the future of workforce development. Attendees will explore how strategic policy changes can drive meaningful progress, with a strong focus on legislative reform, funding allocations, and regulatory frameworks that empower an inclusive and diverse workforce.

12:30 pm – 1 pm Lunch & Learn: This educational session on WIOA allows participants to gain knowledge or skills, promoting a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

1:30 pm – 2 pm Join us for an in-depth, candid conversation about strategies and partnerships that can drive sustainable economic growth and support the workforce agenda in NYC.

2:15 pm – 3:30 pm Choose from one of five breakout discussions:

• Expanding Opportunities: Workforce Solutions for Equity and Inclusion of Justice-Impacted Individuals
• Rethinking Support Systems: Overcoming Benefits Cliffs for Long-Term Prosperity and Security
• Land of Innovation: Harnessing Bioscience for Economic Growth at SPARC Kips Bay
• Closing the Digital Divide: Expanding Infrastructure for Inclusive Connectivity
• The Future of Government Contracting: Addressing Barriers and Creating Solutions

3:45 pm – 4 pm Closing Remarks
